Boats loaded and ready to race at Shrewsbury Regatta and Sprint

The event saw some very close races with our J16 2x- recording a narrow loss to North Staffordshire in the Semi Final by only 1foot! Likewise our J18 2x missed out on the final by a third of a length to a Royal Shrewsbury School crew! Our women senior and masters coxed fours had another great weekend, racing against some tough opposition on both days. In our Senior mens squad both the pair and the double had great draws. With our senior pair racing local ‘rivals’ Bridgnorth in the final on both days!

A huge well done to our Women Junior 17 Double Scull of Krystiana and H, who on Sunday were crashed into on the way to the start resulting in their bow blade snapping clean in half! After a medical check both of them got back on the water and raced their race! A real credit to the club and showed the ‘Heart of Ironbridge’!

Facing each other in the final our Men Masters Squad joined by members of our Senior Squad had a brilliant race that saw the Men Master C Boat win by 2 and a half length over the Master B boat in what was a great race for both crews with the glory going to Blair, John, James , Paul and Nicki
