Welcome to Ironbridge Rowing Club and Weekend Regatta

Ironbridge Rowing Club (IRO) was founded in 1870 and is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rowing takes place on the River Severn with 2000m of continuous summer training water and up to 10km of continuous winter training water (river levels dependent). Our clubhouse was built in 1996 with funding from Sports England and the National Lottery and features a dedicated gym area with Ergos, Free Weights and Cages. Our fleet of boats includes 1x, 2x, 2-. 4+, 4-, 4x+, 4x- and 8+.

Ironbridge Weekend Regatta was officially first held in 1883 and since then has gone on to be the must attend regatta in the West Midlands, with the phrase “I won my Novice at Ironbridge” a part of many rowers vocabulary. Since then it has gone on to incorporate the very first Much Wenlock Olympian Mixed Eights event and attracts 1000s of rowers and supporters each year.

This year the Regatta will be held on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.
