Whilst we were racing on one side of the country on Saturday 14th June, the rest of the club were ‘downstream’ at Bridgnorth Regatta representing the Green and Yellow of Ironbridge! Bridgnorth Regatta runs a round robin style regatta over 500m where you are guaranteed at least 2 races.

First on the course was our WJ14 Single Scull who beat Stourport in both legs (having to change sides of the course) of the heats to progress to the final against Nottingham County Rowing Association where our WJ14 put in a strong performance but sadly didn’t win! A great performance however in their very first singles race.

What followed was a fantastic day of racing with crews from all squads racing in some close heats! Our Men Master D recorded a 1 foot loss to Pengwern E Crew in one of the smallest margins of the day! We saw Pav our Open 1x Single Sculler beat both Ross RC and Bewdley RC to make the final, however he sadly didn’t win.

It was however, our Women Pair of Jenny and Holly who took home the wonderful Bridgnorth Regatta pots by finishing top of the table after beating the University of Warwick and Stourport. If photos could speak I think everyone knows the feeling seen below!
